Gachet’s Art School continues to be developed with the introduction of a weekly workshop series presented by Collective Members, Karen Lievseley and Bernadine Fox on The Artist’s Reality: exploring the cultural landscape and realities of being an artist. The 4 week series will cover topics ranging from the “The economic truth of being an artist” to “Ways in which to survive economically”; “The history of artist run centres and cultural institutions” to “Vancouver’s Art Scene – where does Gachet fit?” Participants will be encouraged to think about how they sit in relation to the artist run culture movement in Canada and specifically, Vancouer, as well as help them develop their own arts’ careers. Through a weekly lecture series, and interactive components, participants will learn all about being an artist and the cultural landscape.
