Local artists are invited to participate in an interdisciplinary call for work addressing mental health issues, art and healing, and human rights and
psychiatry. The objectives of this month-long group show include:
? Challenge stigmas of people living with mental health issues.
? Providing a forum for discussion and education on these issues.
? Contributing to dialogue on mental health human rights through the
sharing and showcasing of artistic expression on these themes.

All artistic mediums will be accepted, including live performance, spoken word, and video (presented at July 14 cabaret event) plus painting, drawing, photography, video, sound, and new, mixed, and interdisciplinary media. Both emerging and professional artists encouraged to participate.

Please drop off 1-2 submissions during gallery hours (12pm to 6pm) between June 6-15. Label your artwork on the back and include your name, telephone number, email address, street address, a short description of your work (optional), estimated value (for optional sales and insurance purposes), plus your artist CV (optional). Small artist fees paid for all participating artists.

This exhibit is not to be confused with our much larger World Mad Pride Biennale which was produced last year in conjunction with several international events. (Look for information on that at a later date.)

Mad Pride Organising Committee meets June 2, 3-4pm
Deadline for submissions of artwork June 15, 2007.
Opening reception July 6, 2006, 7-10pm
Cabaret Saturday, July 14, 7:30-11pm
Closing date Saturday, July 28, 6pm.
Work must be picked up between August 1-4, 12-6pm.
